Preparing Materials for Your Project

  1. Answer these questions:
    • Who is this movie for?
    • What is the occasion or purpose?
    • What is the Title or Theme?
  2. Make a storyline or an outline.
  3. Determine and write out your opening title and message, and your closing message.
  4. Create several chapters or parts. Give each part a name or title.
  5. Once you have divided the parts, organize one part at a time.
  6. Determine the photos, slides, video clips, and music to be used in that part.
  7. Put all items in the order you want them to appear and number them.
  8. Write the number of each slide or photo on the back in pencil or light pen. (For VHS tapes or negatives, write the number on a piece of paper or sticky note and tape it, or use a paper clip.)
  9. Collect all materials for Part 1. Place them in an envelope or container labeled ‘Part 1.’ Do the same with each part.
